There are some key conditions that should be followed to communicate with the M-2001 Series Controls.

1. Use of a Null-Modem Cable is required.
You may find out more about this topic here.

2. If you use your own cable assembly, you Must follow the pinout connection in the Appendix of the M-2001 Instruction Book.
The latest Instruction book can be found here. It is printed in many different languages.

3.Exclamation Ensure that the Local Mode of the M-2001 Control is set to DISABLE.

4. Ensure that the comm address is correct, (and identical) in the M-2001 Control and in TapTalk.
i.e. If you are trying to communicate with unit number 6 in the network, ensure that TapTalk is set to communicate with Unit 6, in its setup menu.
